The Gloucester Community Concert Band (GCCB) is a non-profit community band operating in the east neighbourhoods of Ottawa.
About the Band
The band is a registered charitable organization, with our mission to often perform at seniors homes across Orleans and Gloucester. Additionally, the band holds two formal concerts each season for the community and also often plays at community events across Ottawa.
About our Music
GCCB plays a wide variety of musical genres and styles, including Big Band Swing, Contemporary concert band pieces, traditional classics, Broadway tunes, seasonal favourites, and more.
Rehearsals and concert schedules typically divide into the Fall season, culminating in a Christmas concert in early December and then a Spring season that leads up to our Spring Concert in May. Following each season, the band goes on a “Road Show” to perform at seniors homes.
About the Conductors
Lisa Concessi Maclean began playing clarinet with the GCCB in 1988, then took over conducting in 1992 when longstanding conductor and musician Nelson McClinton decided to step down. Lisa has been the primary Conductor ever since.
Fadi Diab was warmly welcomed to the conducting team in 2011 as co-conductor.
