Barrhaven Community Concert Band

Our Band is a traditional concert band comprised of amateur musicians of all ages. We are a non-profit organization based in Barrhaven, Ontario, a south-western suburb of Ottawa.

Our mission is to develop and maintain a community-based musical organization dedicated to furthering the development of the musical ability of our members and performing high quality musical concerts.

Rehearsals – The Band rehearses Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at John McCrae Secondary School in Barrhaven. New members with at least high school musical ability and their own band instrument are welcome to become a member. Please go to the “Join Us” page on our website.

Barrhaven Community Concert Band (BCCB) was established in the summer of 2011 by Lisa Hazel and Lisa Nudelman, both long time residents of Barrhaven. Since that time, the Band has grown to 40 adult and student members. Our members play the following instruments: flutes, clarinets, saxophones, french horns, trumpets, trombones, tuba and percussion. We are always looking for more players in all categories of concert band instruments and will welcome any musician who can play at a minimum of a high school level.

Our goal is to improve the musical ability of our members. Each week, our conductor shares his passion for music as well as his knowledge and expertise, and challenges members with a rewarded feeling after each practice and performance. There is also a special camaraderie between members, making our experiences even more special.
